Side Pot Calculator

When two or more players go all-in for different amounts, the pot has to split into a main pot and one or more side pots — and getting the split wrong is one of the most common mistakes new dealers make (see mistake #4). Use this to check your math.

Side Pot Calculator

Enter each player still in the hand and how much they've put in total. Check "folded" for anyone who contributed but is out of contention. The tool splits the pot into the correct main pot and side pots, and shows who's eligible for each.

How side pots work

Every time a player is all-in for less than everyone else, their contribution caps a “layer” of the pot that only players who matched or exceeded that amount are eligible to win. Stack those layers from smallest all-in to largest, and you get the main pot plus however many side pots the hand needs. Folded players' chips still count toward the pot total — they just aren't eligible to win any layer.
